The Ancient History of Artisanal Vietnamese Craftsmanship

After Emperor Ly Thai To moved the Imperial Court from Hoa Lu to Thang Long on the banks of the Red River in 1010, several villages began developing craft activities. Despite the trials and tribulations Vietnam has endured, the arts have remained alive, and bear witness the basis of social and spiritual culture of the country.
"Craftsmen defend us from the unification of technology and its geometric deserts. By safeguard the differences, they safeguard the exuberance of history"
